BOSTON — Goalie Drew MacIntyre has joined the Maple Leafs as an emergency replacement for backup Ben Scrivens, who is attending his grandfather's funeral in Alberta.
Scrivens is due to rejoin Toronto in time for Game 2 of its Eastern Conference quarter-final series against the Boston Bruins on Saturday. The funeral is in Spruce Grove.
The 29-year-old MacIntyre, a native of Charlottetown who spent the season with the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, arrived in time for Friday's practice at Boston University.
