Ryan Reynolds is starring in a brand new animated movie called "Turbo." He plays the film's title character, a snail who dreams of racing in the Indianapolis 500. Following a freak accident, because that's how these things happen, Turbo's DNA gets fused with nitrous oxide, making him as fast as any race car.
Before Sunday's Indy 500, a new featurette from the movie has been released featuring several members of the cast, along with 2012 Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti. "You see the passion everybody on the 'Turbo' project has for making it the best possible racing film," Dario says, "There's no limits. Anything is possible." Reynolds says the underdog nature of the story is what drew him to the film.
The cast is jam-packed with big names, including Samuel L. Jackson, Maya Rudolph, Bill Hader, Snoop Dogg, Paul Giamatti and Ken Jeong. For racing fans, Dario, Will Power and the legendary Mario Andretti also voice characters in the movie.
"Turbo" races into theaters July 17. Then in December, an animated series called "Turbo: F.A.S.T. (Fast Action Stunt Team)" will air on Netflix.
