The Edmonton Oilers have gone to the Kontinental Hockey League to help address their issues on the blue line.
The club announced on Thursday that they have agreed to terms with 26-year-old defenceman Anton Belov on a one-year entry-level contract.
The 6'4" defenceman posted nine goals and 17 assists in 46 games while having a plus-19 rating with Avangard Omsk during the 2012-13 season.
Most recently, Belov played for Russia at the World Hockey Championship where he recorded one goal and three assists along with a plus-8 rating in eight games.
