BOSTON — The Toronto Maple Leafs practised Thursday without star forward Phil Kessel and defencemen Cody Franson and Michael Kostka.
All three played in Wednesday night's 4-1 loss to Boston in Game 1 of their NHL playoff series, although Franson took a puck on the foot and missed some action.
Kessel reportedly received some treatment on his wrist from the trainer during the game. The Leafs' leading scorer had just one shot on goal.
Kostka was a minus-3 on the night.
Ryan Hamilton skated on Toronto's top line with Tyler Bozak and James van Riemsdyk in Kessel's place at practice at a Boston University rink.
The Bruins took the day off, although a few players and coach Claude Julien met the media at TD Garden.
The Bruins say they expect to face a hungry Leafs team in Game 2 of their NHL playoff series.
Boston forward Patrice Bergeron says the Bruins will have to raise their game to match the Leafs in Game 2 on Saturday.
