Former Temple running back Matt Brown has signed on to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers thanks in part to an expired passport.
Brown agreed to sign a deal with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and was set to fly to Canada to put pen to paper on Tuesday. Brown arrived at the airport only to find out he was unable make the trip because his passport was expired.
While Brown was trying to solve his passport issue, the Buccaneers called his agent and offered hm a contract, which Brown accepted.
During his career at Temple, Brown rished for 2,647 yards and 23 touchdowns.
