[SurroundSound] Updating Firmware: Toshiba TV

The discussion earlier today about HDMI brought up an issue I have that isn't directly related to surround music but is at least partially related... My TV is from about 2009, and while so far everything works pretty flawlessly from what I can tell as far as multi-channel music I'd like to keep it that way. The thread earlier today reminds me that in the era of HDMI all of your components need to work together for any of them to work (slight exaggeration, but only slight).

Does anyone have any experience updating firmware on Toshiba Regza TV's? There is a firmware update available for my TV, but the last time I tried to install it following the instructions from the website (which are confusing and not super clear) I never was able to get it to work. Luckily it didn't cause any problems for my TV and it's still humming along with it's old firmware just fine, but I'd like to get it updated to the latest version if possible just so I can avoid future potential headaches when new components and such enter the picture.

Feel free to message me privately about this if you have any suggestions or experience with this (or if you've had problems with it in the past! maybe if we pool our resources we can figure it out!)
