OTTAWA — Captain Hayley Wickenheiser isn't expected to play in Canada's game versus Finland tonight at the women's world hockey championship.
Head coach Dan Church says it's "very doubtful" that Wickenheiser will re-join Canada's lineup for the game.
Wickenheiser suffered an upper-body injury in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout win over the United States. Canada's all-time leading scorer did not play in a 13-0 win over Switzerland on Wednesday.
Assistant captain Caroline Ouellette also sat out Wednesday's game with an upper-body injury, but will play against Finland.
Church says Wickenheiser could be ready to play in Monday's semifinals.
She received treatment for her injury Friday morning.
Wickenheiser remained at the team hotel while the Canada had its pre-game skate.
