Veteran entertainer Paul Anka offered Jay-Z the chance to record a rap for a reworked version of his Michael Jackson collaboration, but claims the hip-hop star deliberately dodged his calls.

Anka wrote Jackson's posthumous 2009 single, This Is It, with the singer in the 1980s under the title I Never Heard and he has included it on his new Duets album.

The veteran star has now revealed he reached out to Jay-Z, who previously sampled the lyrics of Anka's hit My Way, to offer him a part on a reworking of the Jackson song, but Anka alleges the Big Pimpin' hitmaker refused to talk to him.

He tells TMZ.com, "I called up Jay-Z because he did a track on My Way... I wanted to put him in on a rap with Michael Jackson. I called him up. But Jay-Z has totally blown me off. He won't answer my calls. He's inappropriate in his behaviour. I love his wife (Beyonce), I think she's great. But Jay-Z wouldn't return the calls."
