Sometimes new artists record the darnedest catchy ass tunes, but why--
can't they spell? A hip hop artist pronounced "Gottee eh"--but
spelled GOTYE--has released a unique break up song called "Somebody
That I Used To Know". I've not listened to the rest of Making Mirrors,
but this track is refreshing and I have to admit I like it.
It's as surprising to find in a hip hop record, as was "Planet
Caravan" in Black Sabbath's hard hitting Paranoid way back when. I
forgot all about "Planet Caravan" until Pantera did one of the most
awesome tributes ever recorded also way back when.
What sets this one off, besides GOTYE's New Zealand singer "Kimbra" as
back up vocals, is that he sold the re-record rights to another band
who can spell. They're called "Walk off the Earth". Their take on this
track is on YouTube here:

The line my wife pointed out to me: "Have your friends collect your
records And then change your number (oh)"
Are tribute bands greater than the original artist?
