The Halifax Mooseheads announced Monday that forward Nate MacKinnon is expected to miss one-to-two weeks with a lower body injury.
MacKinnon was forced from Friday night's 8-5 loss to the Moncton Wildcats in the second period after sustaining the injury and did not return.
The 17-year-old is expected to be one of the top picks in the 2013 NHL Draft. He is currently second on the team in scoring with 28 goals and 41 assists in 41 games played.
MacKinnon was a member of Canada's 2013 World Junior Hockey team alongside Mooseheads teammate Jonathan Drouin.
