The Edmonton Eskimos announced the re-signing of import defensive back Chris Thompson on Friday. The six-year CFL veteran was scheduled for free agency next week. Terms of the contract were not released.
"Chris is a savvy veteran defender with remarkable character who does an exceptional job in the locker room," Eskimos head coach Kavis Reed said in a team release.
Thompson started all 18 regular season games and the Eastern Semi-Final for Edmonton last year. The Nicholls State product collected 51 tackles, fiver interceptions, and two forced fumbles. The two-time CFL All-Star has 264 career tackles and 26 interceptions.
