Tristan Jarry stopped 20 shots en route to his second shutout of the season as the Edmonton Oil Kings defeated the visiting Kootenay Ice 2-0 in Western Hockey League action on Friday night.
In nine starts this season as the back up to regular starter Laurent Brossoit, Jarry has gone 6-3-0 with a 1.33 goals-against average and .944 save percentage.
T.J. Foster and Henrik Samuelsson both scored their 13th goals of the year for the Oil Kings (17-5-4) while Michael St. Croix picked up an assist on both of his club's goals.
St. Croix has one goal and five assists in his last four outings and currently leads Edmonton in both goals and points with 14 goals and 37 points in 27 games.
Mackenzie Skapski stopped 40-of-42 shots in a losing cause for the Ice (8-16-1).
Edmonton's number-one ranked power play didn't get any opportunites with the man advantage while Kootenay went 0-for-3.

At Edmonton, Foster opened the scoring 6:14 into the contest after being left alone in front to put back a pass from St. Croix under the glove of Skapski.
Kootenay nearly evened the game on the power play at 9:03 of the second period with Zach McPhee deflecting a Joey Leach point shot just off the inside edge of the post behind Jarry.
Samuelsson doubled Edmonton's lead with 26 seconds remaining in the second, after being sent in alone by St. Croix and tucking a bandhand deke through the five-hole of Skapski.

At Calgary, Matt Revel scored twice and added an assist and Andrey Makarov turned aside all 25 shots he faced as Saskatoon (13-12-1) blanked the Hitmen (17-6-3), who lost for the first time in five outings.

At Red Deer, Alta., Brooks Maxwell's goal at 16:57 of the third period proved to be the winner and Rhyse Dieno chipped in with three assists and picked up the game's first as the Rebels (16-11-2) handed Medicine Hat (11-16-2) its eighth loss in a row.

At Kamloops, B.C., Chase Souto scored the winning goal with only 38 seconds remaining in the game and Colin Smith had a goal and an assist as the Blazers (21-6-2) edged Tri-City (16-10-2), which is winless in its last three outings.

At Everett, Wash., Joshua Winquist scored twice and Daniel Cotton turned away all 19 shots he faced for his first WHL shutout as the Silvertips (11-17-2) blanked Vancouver (7-19-0), which is winless in six games.
