Re: [SurroundSound] Re: "Don't Shoot Me..." and other unreleased Elton John 5.1 mixes

Sitting next to each other on the couch and texting each other.  Definitely seen that happen with my kids. Insane stuff.   While I have been avoiding facebook like the plague recently, have to admit it has allowed me to either reconnect with old acquaintances that never would have happened otherwise, and has also
been very helpful in tracking down people related to the search for old quad stuff.
With that in mind, just heard back from the administrator of Greg Lakes facebook page, who said that according to Greg, no quad mixes of Trilogy exist as best as he knows.   This was listed as an upcoming release back in the day, but definitive info regarding this has been pretty scant (at least as far as I can tell).   So , even though Facebook sucks, it doesn't totally suck if you make it work to your advantage.  Having said that, got to get the dvd-a hooked up so I can listen to Pompeii this morning before I head off to the day job.     - CP

I *totally* agree with RealAfrica - I cannot stand FaceBook! The interface is a piece of shit and, frankly, I am damn sick and tired of people and companies relying on FaceBook to present themselves to the world. And no, I do NOT want to have to sign-in to FB in order to post my resume to a company's website. IMHO, folks spend far too much time "friending" each other and such instead of making *real* friends. We have definitely taken a major step backwards in our social interaction skills by relying on sites such as FB, Twitter, and such. Just the other day, I saw two 20-somethings sitting *next* to each other on a couch, furiously pounding away on their smartphones. As it turns out, they were texting each other - they couldn't be bothered to actually speak to one another. Truly sad.... -RW- On Oct 31, 7:33 am, ceplas...@aol.com wrote: >          Honestly,  no need to get so grumpy about a worthy cause, at the same time I have spent virtually no time on Facebook over the last month because of the endless posts about the upcoming elections.  One week to go and I can hardly wait until it's over.    - CP > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: realafrica <paul.gam...@gmail.com> > To: SurroundSound <surroundsound@googlegroups.com> > Sent: Tue, Oct 30, 2012 10:28 pm > Subject: [SurroundSound] Re: "Don't Shoot Me..." and other unreleased Elton John 5.1 mixes > > I would like to support this but I never ever 'LIKE' any shit on > Farcebook. > Do you guys really want Farcebook to rule the web.
