Another Blue Jays coach is following former Toronto manager John Farrell to Boston.
The Red Sox announced on Tuesday that they have hired hired Blue Jays third base coach Brian Butterfield to take the same job with the Red Sox.
Last week, the Red Sox hired Blue Jays first base coach Torey Lovullo to become Boston's bench coach.
Butterfield was a long-time member of the Jays' coaching staff and was considered by many to be a candidate for the club's vacant managerial position.
The 54-year-old was with the Blue Jays for 11 seasons. He served as Toronto's third base coach from 2002-07 and again in 2011. He was bench coach for three seasons from 2008-10.
Butterfield worked under the last four Blue Jays managers, including Carlos Tosca, John Gibbons, Cito Gaston, and Farrell.
