"Baywatch" icon Pamela Anderson has invited City Council Speaker and mayoral hopeful Christine Quinn to be her date to an upcoming gala. Busty blonde Anderson has been urging her fans to back a campaign banning horse-drawn carriages in New York after two horses died late last year. The animal-rights supporter is hosting NYClass's gala on Tuesday to promote a pilot program for classic cars to replace the city's horse-and-buggy brigade. The bill already has the support of 23 of the council's 51 members. Anderson wrote to Quinn, "I know you are a busy woman, but I'd like to invite you to be my date for the evening in hopes you'll consider being the 24th council supporter." Guests at the Edison Ballroom gala including Liv Tyler, Kristen Johnson and Kathy Najimy will be treated to a performance by Joan Jett. Anderson added in her letter to Quinn, who married her longtime partner Kim Catullo in May, "Please let me know if you can join me on Tuesday. And please feel free to bring your wife — three's company!" So far, no word from Quinn, who has been a supporter of the horse-drawn carriage industry.
