{allcanada} OHL: 19-YEAR-OLD MORRISON SHINES AS FRONTENACS BEAT ICEDOGS

Mike Morrison made quite the impression on his competition on Sunday afternoon.

The 19-year-old goaltender turned away 42 shots as the Kingston Frontenacs held on to defeat the visiting Niagara IceDogs 5-4 in Ontario Hockey League action.

"Morrison was unbelievable and they were blocking shots," said IceDogs forward Ryan Strome. "We definitely had our chances."

Morrison was his busiest during the second period when he faced 19 shots, however it was his club's ability to clear the front of his net that led to a victory.

"It was good that the guys were able to calm down and keep the shots to the outside," said Morrison. "That's what I'm looking for."

Ryan Kujawinski scored two goals for the Frontenacs (3-0-0) while Cody Alcock, Darcy Greenaway and Spencer Watson each had a goal and an assist.

Michael Moffat chipped in with three assists for Kingston.

Strome led the IceDogs (3-1-0) offensively with two goals and Dougie Hamilton had a goal and an assist.

Brett Ritchie picked up two assists while Steven Shipley scored a single goal to round out Niagara's offence.

Christopher Festarini made 29 saves in defeat.

Kingston went 1-for-2 on the power play while Niagara failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Guelph 4, London 1; Windsor 5, Sudbury 2 and Oshawa 7, Brampton 4.

At Kingston, Ont., Kujawinski opened the scoring for the Frontenacs 3:34 into the first period.

Greenaway gave Kingston a 2-0 lead at 16:11, despite being outshot 15 to 8 in the opening period.

Alcock made it 3-0 early in the second period before Shipley finally put Niagara on the board at 13:14.

Strome had a chance to make it a one-goal game when he was sprung in on a breakway on Morrison, but Morrison won the one-on-one battle.

"Anytime you stop a breakaway it's a big save and that really got the guys going on the bench," said Morrison. "I think that was the change we needed. They got to us a little bit in the middle of the period but that was definitely a big save."

Kujawinksi's second goal of the day came on ther power play at 17:52. It looked like the Frontenacs would head into the second intermission up three goals, however Strome scored with just five seconds remaining in the period to make it 4-2 Kingston after 40 minutes of play.

Strome made it a one-goal game when he scored his second at 3:09 of the third period, but Watson responded for the Frontenacs only 30 seconds later.

"When they scored the goal 30 seconds after we made it 4-3 that definitely took the wind out of our sails," said Strome.

Hamilton added one more goal for the IceDogs at 10:09.

At Oshawa, Ont., Tyler Biggs, Boone Jenner and Lucas Lessio each scored twice as the Generals (4-1-0) beat Brampton (1-2-1).
