The Detroit Red Wings have tweeted the official logo for their Jan. 1 Winter Classic game with the Toronto Maple Leafs in Michigan Stadium.

It's a shield design, with a drawing of the Ann Arbor, Mich., stadium and the words "Big House."

The one thing missing is a date, which has been included in the previous five Winter Classic logos.

So the question is, will there be an outdoor game this season or will it be threatened by a looming NHL lockout?

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman has said he will lock out players on Sept. 15 in the absence of a new collective bargaining agreement. The league is asking players to cut their share of revenues from the current 57% to 46%. The sides broke off talks on Friday and as of Monday night, no new negotiations have been scheduled.

The New York Times has reported that the game could be canceled up until the day of the event. But the Winter Classic is the highlight of the NHL regular season and there's the possibility of setting a hockey attendance record.

Hall of Famer Igor Larionov, who's playing for the Red Wings in the Alumni Showdown at Comerica Park, told the Ottawa Citizen that if there is a lockout, "I don't think it's going past the outdoor game."

It's just too valuable a property - for NBC and everybody else concerned.
