The Saskatchewan Roughriders, who have lost five games in a row, are close to adding some experience to their linebacking corps.
Joe Lobendahn is in Regina for a physical scheduled for Tuesday and if he passes, the club intends to sign him.
Lobendahn is expected to practice Wednesday and could start Sunday, when the Roughriders host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
The 29-year-old Lobendahn signed with the Blue Bombers in 2008 and registered 180 tackles, seven sacks, and one interception in his time with Winnipeg.
The veteran was release by the Blue Bombers in May.
