Grayhawk,

Thanks for the kind words.  (What forum do I know you from? The name
sounds  familiar)

I haven't followed the hi-rez vs Redbook test , but do check out the
results of the SurroundSound 'Find the original' DTS lossy vs lossless
test -- IIRC at least one (two?) respondent got every ID correct -- which
is quite extraordinary. (I myself still haven't gotten around to comparing
the reportedly 'telling' sections of the track, to see if I can achieve
that score).

You're welcome, Steve.  I just felt like you were not only unappreciated, while speaking what I believe to be the truth, but being ganged up on by people who weren't actually hearing what you said to them.  I've always found you to be very knowledgeable, even if I didn't always agree with you (first got to know you on a.m.y. many years ago when it was thriving; recently on QQ).  One thing that struck me though is how you seemed to mellow over the years.  You used to be one who never suffered fools lightly and could become rather abrasive at times, but even when others were jumping all over you for saying what you never said (mainly that you told them they hadn't heard what they knew they heard), your responses were much calmer than I remember from a.m.y., which was even more impressive given that you seemed to be getting it from all sides.

I had looked at the thread you referenced, back a few weeks ago when I first found this forum and was just lurking, but I don't think anyone had gotten them all right yet- may not have even posted any results then.  I do know that, given a decent sample size, 1 or 2 getting all 4 right is not a statistically significant result.  But I will revisit that thread.
