Olli Jokinen will part ways with the Calgary Flames and test the free agent market on July 1, according to a report in the Calgary Sun.
Source tells me it's official: Olli Jokinen's days with the Flames are over and he will head to free agency July 1.
Last season with Flames the centre scored 23 goals and added 38 assists for his ninth consecutive season with at least 50 points.
The Finnish forward is coming off a two-year, $6 million contract but after a 61-point season it is expected that he will receive a raise.
The Flames originally acquired the 33-year-old in 2009 in a trade with the Phoenix Coyotes, but the Flames traded him to the Rangers midway through his second season in Calgary. After the 2009-10 season the team signed Jokinen as a free agent, but for less money than he was making during his first stint with the Flames.
