EDMONTON -- The world's top women's golfers will play in Edmonton in 2013.
The city's Royal Mayfair Golf Club will host the 2013 CN Canadian Women's Open, Aug. 19-25.
Edmonton last hosted the open six years ago, when Lorena Ochoa won at Royal Mayfair.
"The 2007 event was a tremendous success and there's no doubt that Royal Mayfair and the City of Edmonton will once again prove fabulous hosts for the Championship," Golf Canada executive director Scott Simmons said in a statement.
This year, the tournament is taking place Aug. 20-26 at the Vancouver Golf Club in Coquitlam, B.C..
Royal Mayfair president George Dawson said they were looking forward to hosting and to the chance to raise money for local charities it provides.
Since 2006, nearly $6.5 million has been raised for pediatric care in host cities through tournament sponsorship and the CN Miracle Match Program.
