Justin Bieber has had No. 1 albums and chart-topping singles and a concert movie, and now he's landed another hallmark of a pop star's career: a network TV special.
NBC will air a one-hour special called "Justin Bieber: All Around the World" on June 21, the network says. The special will feature performances from Bieber's current world tour and behind-the-scenes footage, some of it shot by Bieber himself.
"We're thrilled to air Justin Bieber's first network special," says Doug Vaughan, NBC's head of special programming and late night. "We'll have unprecedented access to Justin as our cameras film not only his performances, but his every move on this global tour -- giving our viewers an all-access pass to his life over a 12-day period, something rarely seen on TV today."
Those 12 days cover stops in seven countries for Bieber and his crew, culminating in a concert in New York City.
Ian Stewart ("The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show") is producing the special for NBC.
