The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed offensive lineman Tyson Pencer, the team's top pick in the Canadian Football League Draft, to a contract.
Pencer was selected third overall and will be on the field when rookie camp opens on Wednesday.
"We are very happy to have Tyson locked up and are looking forward to seeing him on the field this afternoon," said vice-president and general manager Joe Mack in a press release. "Tyson is a gifted athlete who we are counting on to be a big piece of the puzzle for many years."
The 23-year-old North Delta, B.C., native is 6'8" and attended Washington State for two years before leaving for the Okanagan Sun of the Canadian Junior Football League in 2011.
