SAINT JOHN, N.B. -- For the third straight time in as many seasons, the Saint John Sea Dogs will have a chance to hoist the President's Cup.
Stanislav Galiev scored the winning goal 11:19 into overtime as the Saint John Sea Dogs eliminated the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueens from Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.
Saint John won the best-of-seven Eastern Conference final 4-1 after back-to-back overtime victories to clinch the series.
Last season the Sea Dogs won the President's Cup after eliminating the Gatineau Olympiques in six games while in 2010 they finished runners up to the Moncton Wildcats.
Zack Phillips had a goal and an assist for the Sea Dogs and Charles Coyle scored his league-leading 14th of the playoffs.
Galiev added another goal for Saint John to give him a two-goal night and the game's first star.
Steve Lebel scored once and set up two more for the Sagueneens, Yoan Pinette had a goal and an assist and Dominic Poulin scored a single goal.
Mathieu Corbeil stopped 38 shots for his 12th win of the post season while Christopher Gibson turned away 39 shots in defeat.
Saint John went 1 for 3 on the power play as Chicoutimi failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
The Sea Dogs will have to wait for the Rimouski Oceanic-Halifax Mooseheads series to wrap up before they know who their opponent in the finals will be.
Rimouski currently leads the series 3-2.
Coyle and Phillips scored 10 seconds apart in the first period to give Saint John a 2-0 lead but Lebel put Chicoutimi on the board with 1:03 remaining in the period.
Poulin scored the lone goal of the second period to make it 2-2 after 40 minutes of play.
Galiev regained the lead for the Sea Dogs at 9:21 of the third period however Pinette evened the score at 14:58.
Despite being outshot in overtime 10-5 Galiev put one past Gibson to clinch the series.
