{allcanada} ROY ADDRESSES MEDIA HOURS AFTER CANADIENS MAKE CHANGES

Hockey Hall of Famer and current head coach of the QMJHL's Quebec Remparts, Patrick Roy, addressed the media on Thursday just hours after the Montreal Canadiens announced general manager Pierre Gauthier and advisor Bob Gainey were relieved of their duties with the team.

Roy, who is widely believed to be in consideration to rejoin the franchise that he backstopped to their last two Stanley Cup victories, has not been contacted by either team owner Geoff Molson or former Canadiens player and general manager Serge Savard, who returned to the team in an advisory role and assisting with the search for a new GM.

Roy, who stated that he is focused on getting the Remparts ready to face the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL playoffs, said he didn't want to anticipate whether or not he would get a call from his former team.

"If I receive a call I'll be very happy to listen to them," Roy said.  "If they want to meet with me, it will be my pleasure to do so."

Roy reportedly turned down the Colorado Avalanche coaching job in May 2009.  On Thursday, the 46-year-old seemingly left the ball in the Canadiens' court if they wanted his services.

"They will make their own decision and I have no control over that."
