Right-hander Dustin McGowan will be a member of the Toronto Blue Jays for the forseeable future.
The 30-year-old signed a two-year contract extension on Monday that will see him earn $1.5 million for the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
The deal also includes an option for the 2015 season worth $4 million.
McGowan appeared in five games for Blue Jays in 2011, making four starts and posting an 0-2 record with a 6.43 ERA.
His appearance on September 6 last season marked his first outing with Toronto since July 8, 2008 as he underwent shoulder surgeries in 2008 and 2010.
In 2008 he made a career-high 27 starts posting a 12-10 record with a 4.08 ERA with two complete games and one shutout.
McGowan, who was selected 33rd overall in the first round of the 2000 Draft, is the longest continuously-tenured player in the organization.
