While Apple is helping drive the "good enough" mentality with the
iTunes store, let's be fair to them. IIRC their initial offerings
were 128k AAC and that has been bumped up to, what, 256k? Also their
video offerings have been low bitrate 720p and they are rumored to
finally be gearing up for 1080p. So it's not unheard of for them to
increase the quality of their offerings (after many years of angst and
aggravation).
