{allcanada} OHL: BATTALION USE MAN ADVANTAGE TO KNOCK OFF MAJORS

The Brampton Battalion continued their dominance of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors thanks to their power play.

The Battalion scored four goals with the man advantage to beat the Majors 4-1 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

The win was the fourth for Brampton in as many games against Mississauaga this season.

Ian Watters and Barclay Goodrow both had a goal and two assists for the Battalion (21-10-5), while Sam Carrick and Dylan Blujus had a goal and an assist each.

Jordan Mayer scored the lone goal for the Majors (17-15-5).

Matej Machovsky made 27 saves for the win as JP Anderson stopped 32 shots in defeat.

Brampton's four power-play goals came on nine opportunities while Mississauga went 0 for 8.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: Saginaw 5, Sault Ste. Marie 3; Plymouth 7, Windsor 4; Guelph 4, Niagara 1 and Barrie 5, Erie 3.

At Brampton, Ont., with the first penalty of the game called on the Majors just 50 second into the first period, the Battalion wasted no time putting their power play to work as Carrick set up Watters to give the Battalion a 1-0 lead at just 1:30 of the opening frame.

Brampton would hold a one-goal lead until 16:24 of the second period when Goodrow scored on a 5 on 3 to make it 2-0.

With 57 seconds left of 5-on-4 power-play time, the Battalion once again capitalized as Blujus made it 3-0 just 25 seconds later at 16:49.

Midway through the third period, with the Battalion once again on the power play, Carrick gave the Battalion a 4-0 lead at 10:23.

With 3:12 to go in the third period the Majors finally got on the board as Mayer scored, breaking Machovsky's shut-out bid.

At Saginaw, Mich., Vincent Trocheck scored twice and Garret Ross added a goal and two assists as the Spirit (16-19-2) defeated Sault Ste. Marie (18-17-4).

At Windsor, Ont., Plymouth's (25-9-3) top line of Andy Bathgate, Alex Aleardi and Beau Schmitz combined for five goals and 11 points as they handed the Spitfires (17-19-4) their fifth-straight loss.

At St. Catharines, Ont., Francis Menard's short-handed goal proved to be the game-winner as Guelph (15-15-5) scored four times in the third period against the IceDogs (21-13-3).

At Barrie, Ont., Daniel Erlich had four assists to lead the Colts (21-13-3) over Erie (5-30-2), who have lost seven of eight.
