TORONTO -- A career performance earned Calgary Stampeders tailback Jon Cornish two CFL weekly honours Tuesday.
Cornish was named the league's offensive and Canadian player of the week after rushing for 149 yards in Calgary's 40-3 win over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Cornish also scored on a two-yard run and added a 32-yard TD catch.
Teammate Charleston Hughes captured top defensive player honours. The Calgary linebacker returned a fumble 71 yards for a touchdown against Saskatchewan and also had five tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble.
B.C. Lions linebacker Adam Bighill was named top special teams player. The rookie had five special-teams tackles and a blocked punt in a 33-24 home win over the Edmonton Eskimos.
