{allcanada} Report: Durant questionable for game against Eskimos

The Saskatchewan Roughriders might be taking the field without their starting quarterback when they host the Edmonton Eskimos on Thanksgiving Monday.

According to the Regina Leader-Post, Darian Durant sprained his left foot during Saturday's loss to the Stampeders.

"He's questionable," general manager Brendan Taman told the Leader-Post. "There isn't anything structurally wrong with it. To say he's walking around 100 per cent would be inaccurate, but we'll see how the next few days work out. We're not guaranteeing that he will play, but we're hoping."

Durant has been dependable for the Roughriders, not missing a start since he was named the starter at the beginning of the 2009 season.

"I don't think he'll be practicing Thursday, but the more days off for Darian the better," Taman added. "If we were on a short week, he would be really questionable. Being a longer week, I think we have a chance."

Ryan Dinwiddie will likely start on Monday if Durant is unable to go and head coach Ken Miller has confidence in his young pivot.

"Ryan operates things well," Miller told the Leader-Post. "He's a very intelligent young man, very analytical, very decisive and he uses good judgment.

"This may be his opportunity to help lead us out of the swamp that we're in."

The Rider are in fourth place in the CFL's West Division with a 4-9 record.
