OTTAWA -- Canada's Olympic ice dance champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir will make their season debut at the Finlandia Trophy this week.
Virtue, from London, Ont., and Moir, from Ilderton, Ont., won silver at the world championships last spring in Moscow, the only competition they completed last season.
The two skipped last year's Grand Prix season and the 2011 Canadian championships while Virtue, 22, recovered from surgery on her legs to alleviate chronic pain caused by compartment syndrome.
Virtue and Moir are the only Canadians competing in the event in Vantaa, Finland.
