The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added import quarterback Michael Bishop to the club's practice roster.
Earlier this season, Bishop was signed by the Calgary Stampeders in a back-up role where he played in five games rushing six times for 17 yards and a touchdown. He re-joins the Bombers after last suiting up for the team in 2009.
A nine-year veteran who's played in 129 CFL games with Toronto, Saskatchewan, Calgary and Winnipeg, Bishop has thrown for 11,772 yards and 66 touchdowns including a career-high 3,035 yards while with the Bombers in 2009. He has also added 1,404 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
A Heisman Trophy finalist in college, Bishop was signed by the Argonauts in 2002 where he spent seven seasons, winning a Grey Cup with the team in 2004. He was traded to the Roughriders in 2008 and signed as a free agent by the Bombers in 2009 and then by the Stampeders earlier this season.
He was released by the Stampeders in August.
