[SurroundSound] NAD EARS - decodes quad?

Hi all,
I have a pre-amplifier reciever from NAD which has some surround
options that can be applied on stereo sources.
One of these formats is EARS - some kind of NAD native decoding
format, based on some matrix calculations. I checked this with my only
quad LP that I have - The world of Harry Partch - and it seems to
decode very well. However, duw to the nature of the music, it is very
hard to distinguish any discrete action (apart for the vocals which
came completely from the front). Anyone knows this surround effect and
can tell if it is really close to the original 70s quadraphonic matrix
decoders?
Thanks,
Erez
