Lay off the crummy little speakers - some of us have sound cards that will p*** on hi-fi exotica and amps and speakers that match, mine are in fact floor standing monitors 1.5 metres tall - every channels is discrete and not in a box with 7 other channels fighting for power supply.
Just bear in mind that most music for the last 10 years or so has been recorded on a PC. I suggest that you investigate this area and see just how much you are missing.
