The NHL has decided not to suspend Ottawa Senators forward Chris Neil for a hit on Leafs centre Mikhail Grabovski on Tuesday night.

NHL senior vice-president of player safety Brendan Shanahan reviewed the hit but decided that it did not fall under the parameters of Rule 48 and did not warrant any disciplinary action.

Neil hit Grabovski midway through the third period of the Senators 5-3 loss to the Maple Leafs. Grabovski did not have the puck at the time of the check but no penalty was called on the play.

Grabovski was slow to get up from the collision and appeared dazed as he skated off the ice. He returned later in the period though after being evaluated and cleared by doctors under the NHL's policy on head injuries.

Grabovski had one goal and two assists in the game for Toronto.
