US Weekly just listed their "Hottest Teen Idols Ever" and the ones that made our hearts the throbbiest are Canadian. The photos speak for themselves, but allow me to explain their cultural significance:
1. Jordan and Jonathan Knight: These dual citizenship brothers and members of the greatest boy band ever, New Kids on the Block, have sold over 80 million records worldwide. They also took the boy band into manhood with successful NKTOB reunion tours. Jordan Knight's solo album went gold and his track "Give it to You" went platinum.
I've never owned more posters of anyone in my life.
Now that Jordan is one of the judges of Cover Me Canada here on CBC (and hotter than ever), I get to interview him every week in our CBC Live Lounge. I just wish I could go back in time and make my twelve year old self pause "I'll Be Loving You Forever" for just one sec so we could scream together.

2. Corey Haim: The late, great Corey Haim - TeenBeat cover king - was a Toronto native and won our hearts as the alternative heartthrob in movies like Lucas, The Lost Boys and Silver Bullet.
He actually got his start in CBC's The Edison Twins, a show for kids about a pair of genius science twin brothers.
3. Jason Priestly: As 90210's Brandon Walsh, he was very, very good. As Call Me Fitz's Richard Fitzgerald, he's bad - and I like it. He was by far my favourite on 90210 but he's even sexier as the scoundrel, Fitz. The Vancouver native talked to us on the red carpet of the 2011 Gemini Awards, where Call Me Fitz took home 6 wins, and he was about to start shooting Season three of the show, so it's safe to get attached to him again. I know I am.
