WASHINGTON -- A two-goal performance by D.C. United's Dwayne De Rosario earned the Canadian midifelder MLS player of the week honours.
The Toronto native scored both goals in United's 2-0 victory over the Earthquakes on Saturday at Buck Shaw Stadium, the club's first victory at San Jose since 1998.
De Rosario has been with D.C. United for five matches since coming over in trade with the New York Red Bulls. He's started all five games while registering three goals and one assist.
Prior to joining United, De Rosario had a combined three goals and five assists in 15 games for New York and Toronto FC, which traded him early in the 2011 season.
De Rosario has also been an MLS all-star five times.
