TORONTO -- Milos Raonic's absence from tennis while he recovers from a hip injury has cost him two more spots in the latest men's rankings.
The 20-year-old from Thornill, Ont., dropped to No. 29 in the ATP rankings released Monday.
Raonic underwent surgery last month after suffering a tournament-ending injury during the second round of Wimbledon.
He will miss the Canadian championship next week but is expected to be back in time for the U.S. Open in September.
Raonic was ranked in the 400s before reaching the fourth round of the Australian Open in January and then winning his first ATP tournament in February at the SAP Open in San Jose. After that he rocketed to a career-best No. 25 heading into Wimbledon, making him the highest-ranked Canadian male singles player ever.
In the WTA rankings, Vancouver's Rebecca Marino held at No. 41.
