TORONTO -- Canada has found a new women's soccer coach.
The Canadian Soccer Association has scheduled a conference call for Thursday for what it calls "an important announcement regarding the women's national team program."
The Canadian women have been without a coach since Italian Carolina Morace resigned abruptly during a July post-mortem into the team's poor showing at this summer's World Cup.
Peter Montopoli, general secretary of the Canadian Soccer Association, said last week a coach would be in place before exhibition games against the U.S. on Sept. 17 and 22.
In January, Canada will attempt to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
