[SurroundSound] Request Filled: Bach: The Four Great Toccatas and Fugues [SACD]

Passing along news from a fellowship among us!  They are very pleased to announce The Hub's very first direct digital SACD release (via PS3-rip method performed by a member) - Bach: The Four Great Toccatas and Fugues as played on the four antiphonal organs of the Freiburg Cathedral by E. Power Biggs from a central console.  This highly regarded, highly rare, and until now highly pricey, 5.1 port from the original quad masters has been acclaimed and touted as... one of the best SACD releases, a superb remaster of an analogue recording, almost Telarc in quality, a demonstration quality disc for your SACD player, a 'go to' disc for system and speaker testing, AND a great listen.

But to put it simply... Four organs played simultaneously and live into a quad recording setup, recorded well and played by a master... and its Bach.  If you love organ, its a must.  If you like good surround its a go as well.

BUT - This release is HUB ONLY until 8/1/11.  At that date, it may be uploaded to the noid, blogs, etc, etc.  It is hoped that members will take the time between now and then to put together info text, edit the artwork, upload to a file site for use on blogs, etc.  DVD-A and Blu-A conversions are being considered as well.

Feel free to give your opinions of the audio when you get a chance to listen...
