Ryan Reynolds has been deemed the sexiest man alive, according to People magazine. But he's no vain diva, swears David Dobkin, who directed Reynolds in his August comedy The Change-Up.
"He's a sweet kid and a good guy. Being sexiest man alive -- I'm sure it's humbling – but he's someone who would more likely blush at that kind of attention than be looking for it," says Dobkin.
In their raunchy flick, Reynolds swaps bodies with Jason Bateman, and they live one another's lives. Thus, Reynolds goes from pot-smoking layabout to uptight suburban lawyer, and vice versa. They're best friends on screen, and pals away from it.
"My impression was that they knew each other casually. There's some story about Ryan getting to L.A. when he was 18 and bumping into Bateman and Bateman being very magnanimous and warm to him and that always sat well with Ryan. It created a sense of connection," says Dobkin.
