Days after voicing his displeasure at being taken out of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats opening week loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Kevin Glenn was back on the practice field taking repetitions with the first team offence.
Glenn was pulled in favour of back up Quinton Porter with 8:45 left in the game and the Tiger-Cats down by four points after the Hamilton starter threw his third interception of the game.
Glenn finished the game 18-for-31 for 187 yards but had just one touchdown against the three interceptions. Following the loss, Glenn said he felt disrespected by being pulled.
"Real frustrating," Glenn said after the game. "Especially getting the loss, getting pulled in the first game of the season. It just felt like a smack in the face."
Ticats head coach Marcel Bellefeuille downplayed any potential controversy though and confirmed Glenn would be the club's starter when they travel to Edmonton to take on the Eskimos.
Bellefeuille stood by his decision to pull Glenn from the game but said that he and his starter had talked and there were no issues.
Glenn also appeared to have moved on saying that his reaction was how he felt at the time.
"That's my opinion, everyone is entitled to one," he said.
After jumping out to a 16-9 halftime lead against the Bombers, the Ticats' offence sputtered in the second half. All three of Glenn's interceptions came in the final two quarters as the Bombers came from behind for a 24-16 win.
Porter also had an interception in relief of Glenn.
Glenn threw for career-highs of 5,102 yards and 33 touchdowns for Hamilton last season.
He and the Ticats will need to resolve their turnover issues though if they hope to beat Ricky Ray and the Eskimos (1-0) on the road this week.
The Eskimos stunned the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday night rolling to a 42-28 victory and intercepting Riders quarterback Darian Durant three times at hostile Mosaic Stadium.
