Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard has already cracked the top 10 in the world junior rankings and now boasts a Wimbledon girls' doubles title on her resume.

She hopes they will serve as building blocks for a successful career on the pro circuit.

Bouchard teamed with American Grace Min for a 5-7, 6-2, 7-5 victory over Demi Schuurs of the Netherlands and Tang Hao Chen of China last Sunday. The 17-year-old right-hander said she's still enjoying the victory but adds that little has changed for her since the win.

"The biggest thing I'd say is I have 200 more Twitter followers," she said with a laugh on a conference call Tuesday.

Bouchard, of Westmount, Que., is sixth on the ITF rankings list and holds the No. 368 position on the WTA Tour list. She has an impressive 24-8 singles record this season and a 21-6 doubles mark.

"I definitely want to make a mark on the pro circuit," Bouchard said. "I've played juniors more recently so I definitely want to improve my pro ranking.

"I know I can do well."

Bouchard said it took a while for her and Min to absorb their victory on Sunday.

"All during the day it was slowly settling in," she said. "We would just randomly scream and hug and be all excited because we were like, 'Oh my God, we just won Wimbledon!'

"Now it's definitely sunk in."

Bouchard and Min fought back from two match points before completing the three-set victory.

"We still believed," Bouchard said. "We just kept telling ourselves one point at a time and it actually worked."

The Canadian said that singles will be her main priority in the future, although she intends to play doubles tournaments as well. Next up is this week's Waterloo Open women's Challenger event at the Waterloo Tennis Club, which will serve as a warmup ahead of the junior US Open.

Bouchard also has a chance to be added as a wild-card entry to the Rogers Cup next month in Toronto. She has played in the qualifying draw the last three years.

"It's really fun playing at home," Bouchard said. "So I'm really excited, hopefully I'll get to play in the main draw."

The wild-card entry announcements will likely be made about a week before the start of the Aug. 6-14 tournament at the Rexall Centre.
