I'm experimenting with this, too, mainly because the Guitar Hero and
Rockband multitracks are
ok for making surround mixes, but the censorship on the lyrics really
sucks. On the RHCP - Blood Sugar Sex Magik
there are many many blank passages in the vocal stem, heck, even Don
McLean's Good old Boys are drinking _silence_ and Rye .. :P
So I'm trying to extract vocal passages from the original CD to fill
the gaps, but most of the time failed, either because the vocals are
not panned dead center and/or share their spot with other instruments.
Have to experiment a bit more with M/S processing and spectral
editing.
