RE: [SurroundSound] Re: Best surround sound albums list?

I use Winamp and ASIO4ALL it works and copes with the Xonar up sampling to 192k in surround and I try to always use flac

And it will stay wherever you put it...but if your music isn't in the rez that you assign to it you're up or down sampling.  JRiver automatically changes the rate depending on the material.  It is also more of an audiophile player in that it supports WASAPI, WASAPI-event, ASIO, ect so you are getting a more accurate audio experience.  If you are on a mac you will need to use something like Decibal or some other that has auto sampling changes.  XBMC can sound good, it just more often than not is up or down sampling your audio and you can get MUCH better sound from other solutions.   They will not have the elegant UI of XBMC however.  I wish that someone would come up with a way to use XBMC as a database with a more audiophile player as a plug in type thing where when you select a track in XBMC it plays with JRivers audio engine rather than it's own.  Outside the scope of my limited knowledge but I put this out there so if there is some coder with mad skillz they might be able to come up with a solution that uses the UI at least.

Oh? Really? I changed the settings in the OS sounds settings. Let me
tinker with it tonight and report back.
If the sound is getting resampled, then I definitely will go back to
using the player. Thank you for the tip!
