Hi all, I've been reading posts here and QQ for a while now, and with help I was able to choose an Oppo 980 that's working out very well, and a JVC for the car. I really appreciate the quad/surround community(s)! The music experience in multi channel has been a revelation for me, so much that I've been sharing it with anyone who will listen, so far only one friend has "got the bug" so to speak and we've been comparing opinions about surround mixes. He's a pro sound guy, well so am I sort of (more of a tech) and we have an Acid-based DAW and some good mics, etc., will eventually try our own surround mixes of original recordings, both been in bands for decades. Anyway, I had received Hub info from lokkerman (maybe six months ago) but my HD was too full to participate. I finally got an external drive now that they're so cheap and replied to him but haven't heard back for a while now. Maybe I had the wrong email addy?
I spend a good chunk of every day listening to and reading about surround so I'm eager to get more involved with like minded folks. Missed the first go-round of quad (too much money when I was a kid) and most of the DVDA/SACD era (just didn't know how great it was) but it's great people are keeping it alive for the next era. Thanks!
