AMSTERDAM, Netherlands -- Canadian Olympic silver medallists Dave Calder and Scott Frandsen rowed to victory in the 2000-metre men's pair Sunday at the Holland Beker Regatta.
Victoria's Calder and Frandsen of Kelowna, B.C., finished first with a time of 6:26.19. It was the duo's second straight day atop the podium.
"It was a great starting point and good to be back racing side by side," said Frandsen. "We know what we're going to work on heading into the World Cup in Lucerne (July 8)."
"Beijing was our last international race together, so we have high expectations on ourselves," added Calder.
The men's double also won its final with a time of 6:17.93. Fraser Berkhout of St. Catharines, Ont., and Vancouver's Mike Wilkinson will make their World Cup debut in this boat in a couple of weeks.
World Champion Ondrej Synek won the men's single -- the marquee event of the Holland Beker.
The Czech rower won in 6:43.78 while Canada's Malcolm Howard finished fifth overall.
