The Montreal Alouettes have signed middle linebacker Shea Emry to a multi-year extension.
Emry, 25, is entering his fourth year with the Alouettes and his third as Montreal's starting middle linebacker.
In his three seasons with Montreal, the Alouettes have been to three Grey Cup games, winning back-to-back titles the past two years.
Over those two years, Emry has anchored the defence by racking up 110 tackles, plus another 14 on special teams.
The Richmond, B.C. native was a first-round selection, seventh overall in the 2009 CFL Canadian draft.
Emry was recently ranked no. 2 on Duane Forde's list of the CFL's Top 10 Canadians heading into the 2011 season.
Emry had been eligible to become a free agent in February 2012.
