GATINEAU, Que. -- Stephen MacAulay had a goal and an assist and the Saint John Sea Dogs cruised to a commanding 5-0 victory over the Gatineau Olympiques Monday night in Game 3 of the President's Cup Final.

The Sea Dogs lead the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League final 2-1 with Game 4 Wednesday night in Gatineau.

With the win, Saint John extended its unbeaten road streak through the playoffs to eight games.

Jonathan Huberdeau, Aidan Kelly, Danick Gauthier and Philippe Halley also scored for the Sea Dogs, while Jacob DeSerres faced just 17 shots.

The Olympiques' Maxime Clermont made 30 saves.

The Olympiques were shut out for just the second time this post-season and will need to be much better Wednesday if they hope to tie the series.

The Sea Dogs dominated from the start, outshooting Gatineau 18-5 in the first period, and the Olympiques never seemed to match their intensity.

Clermont kept Gatineau in the game early , making two big saves on Jonathan Huberdeau which helped ignite the already boisterous sellout crowd of 4,000 at the Robert Guertin Arena.

The Sea Dogs solved Clermont with less than a second to go in the first period, as MacAulay scored his fifth of the playoffs to give Saint John a 1-0 lead.

While the fans at the Guertin are known for their exuberance, they were quickly silenced as Saint John made it 2-0 early in the second. Huberdeau jumped on a rebound out front for his league-leading 14th goal of the playoffs.

Kelly gave the Sea Dogs a 3-0 lead midway through the second as he beat Clermont high stick side.

The Olympiques continued to struggle offensively through the period and didn't register their first shot until 11:27 of the period.

DeSerres was rarely tested, but was solid on the few good chances the Olympiques created.

The third period lacked some of the intensity from earlier in the game as it appeared both teams already knew the outcome was unlikely to change.

Saint John made it 4-0 at 12:34 as Gauthier scored his fourth of the playoffs. When Halley made it 5-0 with less than four minutes remaining, many of the die-hard Olympiques fans were walking out.
