The Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected Central Michigan receiver Kito Poblah with the first overall pick in the CFL Supplemental Draft on Monday.
As a result, the Blue Bombers forfeit their first round pick in the 2012 Canadian Draft.
"We're very happy to be adding a player of Kito's caliber to our roster," said Blue Bombers general manager Joe Mack. "We feel this addition certainly strengthens our Canadian contingent, especially at the receiver position, and we look forward to having him in camp to compete for a spot on our roster among the very talented group of receivers that we have assembled."
In the second round, the Edmonton Eskimos picked Ole Miss defensive lineman Ted Laurent.
Poblah and Laurent have the potential to be impact players in the league this season.
In the sixth round, the B.C. Lions selected Wilfrid Laurier defensive tackle Alex Ellis.
